Mark A. Hunt Ortiz

Full Professor in the Department of Prehistory and Archaeology, University of Seville, and Head of the CDL Official College of Seville and Huelva.

He graduated in Geography and History from the University of Seville, where he also obtained his PhD (Extraordinary Prize and European Accreditation), and an M.Sc. in Archaeometallurgy from UCL-Institute of Archaeology. He has completed training and research stays at the Research Laboratory, The British Museum, at the Isotrace Laboratory, Nuclear Physics Department, University of Oxford, and at the Conservation Analytical Laboratory, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. He has developed projects and research contracts on prehistoric mining and metallurgy, including the application of archaeometric techniques, among others, at the University of Seville, the CSIC (Department of Prehistory-Madrid), the University of Lleida, the University of the Balearic Islands, the University of Extremadura, the UCL-Institute of Archaeology, England, the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany, or the Göteborgs Universitet, Sweden.

He is a member of The Historical Metallurgy Society and is currently a member of the Spanish Society for the Defence of Geological and Mining Heritage and of the Andalusian Commission of Archaeology.
